The application does not start or closes

Completely close CoverShake, then open the application again.

  • Restart your phone.
  • Make sure CoverShake is up to date on Google Play.
  • Check that enough storage space is available.
  • Clear only the application cache.
  • Avoid clearing application data if you want to keep local history and settings.

Shakes are not detected

CoverShake uses the phone’s motion sensors to detect a shake.

  • Make sure the CoverShake service is enabled.
  • Check that the service notification is visible.
  • Try a clearer shake without releasing the phone.
  • Temporarily disable battery-saving mode.
  • Restart the service from CoverShake.
  • Restart the phone if the problem continues.

The fake screen is not displayed

CoverShake requires Android permission to display its fake screen over other applications.

  • Open Android settings.
  • Find special application permissions.
  • Open display-over-other-apps settings.
  • Allow CoverShake.
  • Return to the application and restart the service.

The service stops in the background

Some manufacturers automatically stop background applications to save battery.

  • Allow CoverShake to operate in the background.
  • Remove battery restrictions applied to the application.
  • Allow automatic startup where available.
  • Make sure notifications are allowed.
  • Avoid force-stopping CoverShake.
  • Restart the service after changing the settings.

The service does not restart with the phone

Automatic startup may depend on manufacturer settings and battery restrictions.

  • Make sure automatic startup is enabled.
  • Allow CoverShake to operate in the background.
  • Remove battery restrictions.
  • Open CoverShake once after rebooting.
  • Restart the service manually if necessary.

Biometric protection is not working

Biometric authentication is managed directly by Android.

  • Make sure a fingerprint or face is configured in Android.
  • Make sure secure screen locking is enabled.
  • Restart CoverShake.
  • Try disabling and enabling biometric protection again.
  • Use the Android fallback method where available.

Activation history is not displayed

Activation history is stored locally on the phone.

  • Perform a new activation.
  • Close and reopen the history screen.
  • Make sure CoverShake data has not been cleared.
  • Avoid automatic cleaning tools.
  • Restart the application.

Deleting history

CoverShake technically supports deleting an event or the entire history.

You can also remove all local data through Android settings.

  • Open the CoverShake history.
  • Use the available deletion option.
  • Confirm deletion when requested.
  • A permanent deletion cannot always be undone.

Does CoverShake read my screen?

No. In the analysed version, CoverShake does not capture the real screen or read content displayed in other applications.

The application only displays a fake screen over existing content.

It does not use MediaProjection or an accessibility service to read the screen.

Does CoverShake store visited websites?

No. CoverShake does not read the real address of a website or page being viewed.

The technical field in the history only contains the fixed text “Background Detection”.

Advertisements generally require an active Internet connection.

  • Check your Internet connection.
  • Temporarily disable advertising blockers or private DNS services.
  • Check the phone’s date and time.
